Tasks and checklists that live inside the job
On Monday Dave adds "Replace pipe boot, north side" to the task app. Luis doesn't have the task app on his phone. On Friday Dave asks if it got done. Luis says yes.
In March the leak comes back. Dana says the pipe boot was never replaced. There's no photo, no date and no name, just a box someone ticked.
Why it happens
A separate task app sits apart from the photos and the chat, so the crew has one more thing to open, and most days they won't. And a checkbox proves nothing. "Done" without a photo is a promise, not a record.
How JobChalk solves it
Tasks live inside the job, next to its chat and photos. The crew is already there, so the task is already in front of them.
Assign it. Give each task a person and a due date. They get an alert. Overdue tasks send an alert too. Everyone has a "My tasks" list across all their jobs.
Start from a photo. Open any job photo and "Make a task from this photo." The photo is attached, and the title starts from its description. Seeing the problem is the fastest way to explain it.
Finish with proof. A task can require a photo to be marked done, and JobChalk won't let it close without one. The photo is stamped with the date and time, and the task shows "Done by Ana at 3:10 PM." The person who made the task gets an alert.
Checklists with real answers. Each item can be a tick, yes or no, pass or fail, a number with a unit, a date, a signature or a photo. Mark items as required so they can't be skipped. Sections keep long lists readable.
Build it once. Save a checklist as a template and add it to any job in one tap: a roof inspection, a final walkthrough, a safety check. Job templates can carry statuses, labels, tasks, checklists and camera settings for each kind of job.
From the estimate. When a customer accepts an estimate, one tap turns the accepted lines into the crew's tasks.
Into the report. Finished tasks and checklists, with their answers, signatures and proof photos, go straight into the customer's report.
The job screen shows what needs you first, so the crew lead sees what's late without asking.
